Support for teachers with action research
Carrying out a classroom enquiry is a great way of developing your/your colleagues’ teaching practice and of raising your students’ achievement whilst providing demonstrable evidence of both. But where do you start and how do you ensure you/they don’t lose their way?
I have helped many teachers (individuals and groups working in early years through to post-16), to pursue enquiries that ensure that they can and do make a difference for their learners. My support includes group workshops or individual mentoring designed to help teachers to identify an aspect of teaching and learning to focus upon, appropriate interventions to try, and evidence they could collect to show the impact of their efforts.
I give teachers pointers to research evidence that shows the kind of teaching strategies that are likely to help the most and to data collection tools that will help them to measure impact. Whilst I can’t write up your enquiry entirely for you, I can help you to produce a concise report that clearly demonstrates what you and your students have achieved.
